How to Bounce Back from a Hair Disaster

Hey Guys, today’s post is inspired by a very real life event haha. I recently went to the salon, I always get highlights and a cut is what I always get. It’s more so the color that came out bad then the cut… but together they both are a bad look. I ended up with some warm orangeish root highlights, then very cool/light blonde on the rest of my hair…. it looks bad to say the least. So I fretted about it for a couple days, then decided to look forward in the hopes of brighter hair days.

I’ve booked a hair appointment in four about 8 weeks, didn’t want to go earlier as I’d rather not damage my hair any more. In the meantime, I trying to spur growth and healing for strong and healthy hair for my next hair upgrade. eat – I’ll probably stick to minimal heat…. plus when I straighten it…. you can really see the color differential and how not blended it is…

Redken Extreme Line

I love this line, my hair has never been thicker or healthier since I started using this. Plus I love the smell. I usually just stick to the shampoo and conditioner. The shampoo is wonderful, gets your hair nice and clean without stripping it. The conditioner is medium heavy I’d say. They also have a leave in I want to try!

Olaplex

The brand everyone and their mother talks about. I’ve tried a lot of their products over the years, I’d say the No. 3 Leave in Treatment and the Shampoo and Conditioner are the most worth it. The oil is nice, very shiny, but very light if you have thicker hair this may not be enough, but fine hair would love this oil. The Bond Smoother smells wonderful like all their products, I like to use this if I’m leaving my hair curly.

They definitely do bring your hair back to life and would 100% recommend for anyone who has color damage!

Briogeo

I love the Briogeo’s line of products, my favorite part of the line is that it’s silicone free, it’s really hard to find a silicone free conditioner that actually makes your hair look better. The Don’t Despair Repair Mask does just that. I will say they have reformulated this mask, it’s still good, but not as good as it used to be. I was so sad about that! Please bring back the old formula. Also love the Scalp Revival Exfoliating Shampoo, super nice shampoo to just clean your roots without stripping color from the rest of your hair.

Biotin/Supplements

I’m not sure if it’s a placebo effect or if these actually work, but I’ll be taking these Biotin gummies in the hopes they make my hair grow out faster.

Other than those, I would recommend wearing beanies or headbands to make it until your hair is healed and you can get it appointment to get it fixed! I love the Love Your Melon beanies for fall and Lululemon Headbands for working out. Great way to make it cute anyways!

Fingers Crossed my hair is saved next time I go into the salon.

Top 3 Oribe Haircare Products

Oribe is a VERY expensive haircare line. Sephora recently added Oribe as a brand they carry, so I definitely recommend picking these up when you have a coupon code or during the VIB Sale in April. i thought I’d share my top 3 favorites picks from Oribe if you wanted to pick something up!

Best Oribe Products

I remember back in maybe 2013 or 2014, the Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray was absolutely everywhere with rave reviews. So of course, I had to pick it up. I bought a travel size for around $25 and it was so small haha. But I tried it and I was hooked. It’s SO GOOD. And their cult product for a reason. It has a very high end perfumery scent, noticeable but not overwhelming. But guys. The VOLUME. If your hair is feeling flat, you need this. It doesn’t leave any sort of residue really. Doesn’t make your hair sticky or gross. This product is just perfect. I’ve tried other texturizing sprays, but this is the one.

Before
After – Increased Volume

Next up is the Apres Beach Wave & Shine Spray, this one is to be used on waves or curls to achieve a sort of beachy look. The smell of this one is less perfume, and more fruity and beachy. This also adds a bit of shine to the hair. This stuff is truly amazing. It doesn’t leave a sticky residue and you’re left with volume, texture, and some shine. It’s perfect for waves or curls to add that beachy effortless vibe to them.

Lastly, I adore the Oribe Gold Lust Dry Shampoo. This just works. It smells kinda powdery, but in a clean way. When I use this, it leaves my hair feeling refreshed, lighter, and like I can go just a little bit longer before washing. It doesn’t a leave a heavy film or residue. There isn’t a white powder left behind to rub in either. It’s probably my favorite dry shampoo I’ve ever tried.

There you have it! My picks that I would recommend if you were looking to purchase something from Oribe. I’ve heard that Oribe really shines on their styling products, and I would completely agree. They are easily some of the best I’ve ever tried. I highly recommend giving these a try to make your hair look even better!
